1) To add new matter, click “New” button on top right as shown below:


2) A pop-up form will be displayed as shown below:

 

3) The form will require the user to fill in the following matter information:

  • Practice Area – is the type of law for the matter.

- Selection for dropdown includes: Property, Probate, Family Law, Conveyancing, Commercial Law, and Civil Litigation.

  • Client – is the client name.

- Dropdown will display the registered client list for the firm.

- User must create the client before matter can be created.

  • Contact – is the contact person for the matter.

- Dropdown will display the contacts linked with the selected client.

- User must create contact associated with the client before matter can be created, OR

- User can create new contact from link below field.

  • Lawyer in Charge – is the lawyer handling the file.

- Dropdown will display the registered lawyers for the firm.

  • Staff in Charge  is the staff handling the file.

- Dropdown will display the registered staffs for the firm

  • Reference No. – is the file number for the matter.
  • Subject – is the file name.


4) Fill in all required information in the form to create a matter.


5) To make changes, click “Save Changes”.


6) To cancel, click “Cancel”.


7) Information field with (*) is mandatory information to be filled.


8) Empty information field will cause failure for user to apply changes.


9) A success message will pop-up on top right to show that new matter has been successfully created as shown below:
